There are quite a few excellent cruise deals seniors will love from Princess Cruises.
Here are a few things many seniors probably didn’t realize about Princess Cruises. First of all, they are owned and operated by Carnival Corporation. It is also the second-largest cruise line by revenue. Princess Cruises is a part of the Holland America Group(also owned by Carnival Corporation.)
They have 17 ships and cruise worldwide. This was the cruise ship line made famous by the Love Boat, so needless to say. Princess Cruises have been around for a long, long time. The ship made famous in the Love Boat show was the Pacific Princess.
In 2013, the Royal Princess became the flagship of Princess Cruises and was followed by Regal Princess in 2014 and Majestic Princess in the spring of 2017.
NEWEST PRINCES CRUISES SHIP
The beautiful Sky Princess debut took place in the Mediterranean in October 2019.
Its initial itinerary offering was ten cruise departures on eight itineraries. The first sailed for seven nights on the Mediterranean and Adriatic from Athens(Piraeus) to Barcelona. From Barcelona, there was a seven-night cruise to Rome.
The Sky Princess was modeled after its sister ships: Royal Princess, Regal Princess, and Majestic Princess.
The capacity of Sky is 3650 passengers. The main features of the ship are the multistory Piazza atrium, adults-only Sanctuary, and Movies Under the Stars concept(which I personally love). Like its sister ships, Sky Princess features a Princess Live T.V. Studio.
Everybody loves a balcony, and the Sky Princess features balconies in 80% of its cabins. It also features two features new to Princess Cruises. There is the Take-Five Lounge which features live jazz and Phantom Bridge escape room experience with over 700 possible outcomes.
There are two pools on the main pool deck, one at the back of the ship, and one in the thermal suite. The remarkable Sky Suites will feature 270-degree views and have the largest balconies in the Princess fleet(947 to 1,012 square feet). The Sky Suites are located at the top of the ship and the occupants will be able to watch the ship’s Movies Under the Stars without leaving their suites.
The largest Sky Suites are suitable for up to five people and are bigger than my condo. They feature two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dining area with a skylight.

THE ENCHANTED PRINCESS
The Enchanted Princess has a planned launch date of June 2020.
Enchanted Princess itinerary program starts with an inaugural cruise season in Europe (Mediterranean). Departures are offered from homeports in Civitavecchia-Rome, Barcelona, and Piraeus-Athens. The 7-day itineraries can be combined into 14-day or 21-day Back-to-Back Cruises.
The inaugural cruise is scheduled for June 18, 2020, and features an 11-day cruise from Rome to Southampton. On July 1, 2020, is the Maiden Voyage from Southampton to Rome(10-day)and to Athens(17-day).
The homeport for the Enchanted Princess will be Port Everglades(Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Wouldn’t a repositioning 14-day Transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale on November 5, 2020, be a great way to experience Princess Cruises the newest member of their amazing fleet?
Much like the Sky Princess, Enchanted Princess also features balconies in 80% of cabins and the Sky Suites with a 700-foot wrap-around terrace so you can catch a movie under the stars.
Most of the on-board entertainment takes place in the 2-level Princess Theater on decks six and seven. This is the ship’s main show lounge with palladium-style seating and grand-style evening show productions. The entertainment program is excellent and varied, with a beat that is quite innovative. In addition to the production shows, the Princess theater hosts other acts including vocalists and instrumentalists.
